Ocracoke Lighthouse Light North Carolina ....

Built in 1823 by Massachusetts builder Noah Porter, it is the oldest operating light station in North Carolina. Standing 76 feet tall, its diameter narrows from 25 feet at the base to 12 feet at its peak. Constructed of brick with a mortar surface it's foundation is timber and dressed stone. It was automated in 1955; the current lens is a 4th order Fresnel installed in 1854.

The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 as Ocracoke Light Station.
