| Marblehead Lighthouse
Established in 1821, Marblehead lighthouse is the oldest continuous lighthouse on the Great Lakes. The tower was built of native limestone, the light's base is 25 feet in diameter and its walls are five feet thick. The original lighting apparatus was 13 Argand whale oil lamps with 16-inch reflectors.
